The Crunch

It's crunch time and I am painting my little fanny off this week. I had a nice relaxing weekend out at my friend's place, Juniper Hills Farm where we lounged and took a cooking class. I was anxious though to come home and get to work.

I am really excited about my new paintings. I'm really trying to refine my textures and designs and I think I'm on my way. I really want to burn them like I used to to get the antiqued look, but it's such a gamble because I don't have a ton of control over the outcome. You can see some examples of my burn series I did a few years back on my website.

Don't forget that I am giving a "sneak peek" viewing on Thursday before my show opening. Purchases will be taken at that time as well. The only catch is that I ask they are displayed at my show for a week or two until I can replace them with new work, but more on that later.

DIYthing has contacted me to do an interview for their blog and I'm excited to find out more about that possibility. How flattering!

Okay, back to work. I wish I could give you a taste of what I am doing, but I have to keep some air of mystery about it, right?

work in progress

These aren't finished, but I thought I'd show you a little sneak peek at my new work, just so you know I AM working! haha. I'm really concentrating on color and composition and am happy with what I am doing. Enjoy!

we have light

I just ordered my skylights for the trailer! I'll get them in a couple of weeks, which is a long time, but what can I do...this place seems to be the only place that manufacturers skylights for trailers. It will be worth the wait! I spent the last 2 weekends wiring the trailer for electricity. Renee helped me and I just have a couple of tweaks to do before it's completed. Then the next step is insulating the thing. I am trimming the trees above it and cleaning off the roof to paint/seal with aluminum paint that helps reflect the sun to keep it cooler. I have to break it to Elena soon that I will be taking their little AC unit from them soon for my purposes.

So, as you can see, things are swimming along nicely. I feel like it's been a long time in the making. I've sort of been at the mercy of other people's help, but I'm at a point were I can work on it with just my two hands. Pluggin' along.

I am currently cleaning out the garage which is stuffed full of the excess inventory from the store and other junk so I might work in there until the studio/trailer is ready to be utilized. I have decided that my 2nd Annual Trailer Show at Kiki Nass will be opening on Friday, June 1st...which isn't far away! EEEEEEK. Well, I'm almost positive of that. I just don't see how I can make it any later with schedules of others and such. The trailer warming party will be at the end of June as well!!!

Busy summer ahead!

Online Gallery Sale

Online Gallery Sale
The best alternative to a painting a day!!!

At least, for the manner in which I work. I work in spurts, it is just that way and that is why the painting a day was so darn hard for me. I can't change it & I've tried. What can I say; it's the creative process.

But I want to give you fun and surprises and I have the solution. On the 3rd of every month, I will host an online gallery sale and it all starts May 3rd. Here's the lowdown.

*Everything will be posted for purchase on the 3rd of every month at 10am.

*All work will be approx. 6" sq. It could be 10 pieces or 50; I am not putting a minimum or maximum on my production.

*If you want to purchase a piece, here is the lowdown:

Just email me with the title of the item you want, and I'll reserve it for you. It is first come first serve, so don't dilly-dally. :) Once it is reserved with your name on the listing, you may click the $ sign to purchase. Once payment has been received, I will mark the listing as sold. That easy.

*If you would like to receive a reminder notice, just give me a shout and I'll tie a cyber ribbon tied your finger.

Come visit my website!
